(1) The term of office of nominated or elected members in the council shall be four years. After the term of office expires, they can be re-nominated or elected.

However, the Government of Nepal may remove the members nominated by the Government of Nepal before the end of the term of office. If it happens, another member will be nominated or elected for the remaining period.

However,-

(1) Generally, the election or nomination should be done within three months from the date of vacancy.

p>(2) No election or nomination shall be made for a period of less than six months.
